DENALI!

For you few folks still checking this, hey, what can I say. It took us 12 hours to travel the 90 mile Denali road a couple of days ago. Had to stop every three feet and take pictures of some sort of critter or yet another awesome landscape. We're currently in Anchorage getting ready to drive down to Whittier where we will board the Discovery. We've spent the last three days in locations with no public utilities. All electric is by solar and of course no internet. Signs on some of the sinks, "Don't drink the water!"

We only saw 18 bears in Denali (including a black bear, very rare to see one,)6 moose, three beavers (adding to their lodges, a stone's throw away,) and uncounted caribou, sheep, birds and whatever I'm forgetting.

And of course Denali. We went flightseeing and that was great. About 80% clouds to 12,000 feet but once we broke through, the mountain goes on up over 20,000. Fantastic. Then later in the evening the mountain came out in all it's glory and the only word I can think of is "breathtaking!"

This is an intense experience, never a dull moment and few down times so not much time to blog. We got into Anchorage at 9:00, had dinner and got back to the B&B at about 11:00. So between the go and the picture taking, free time is in short supply. (Plus the kid has to check face place and myplace and faceplace and whatever...)(Plus he's trying to get all his professors to firgive him for missing the first two weeks of school. Real bummer.)(Oh yeah... My pug better be OK when I get back or the pug-sitter is gonna be in big trouble!)

Wouldn't have missed it for the world. Don't expect much the next couple of days... On the boat! Will make sure I get pictures with me and my 200 lb halibut! And if I remember, I'll have my salmon packaged up and might send you some...
